I am very new to webgrabber. I am pretty sure i have it installed properly on my ubuntu system. I am able to generate the dummy example file without issue. I was looking at how to configure this though and it looks incredibly laborious, I must be misunderstanding how to do this. Are there examples I can copy from on this? making an entry in the webgrab.conf.xml for every channel i have seems nuts.

well it is not, you just need to add to the config the channels for wich you want epg. So now, instead of dummy, get some channels from the site.ini pack and run webgrab, see if it output the guide xml.
