i think this is a site problem,webgrab isn't getting the details page for some programs.thats why you see the ? in the title.

the ? means that index page title and details page title do not match.in this case webgrab is able to create the http link for these detail pages but the server is not reponding with any information.so webgrab gets no details page title and you get the ?.

i dont know why its getting details for some programs(ones without the ? in the title) and not for the others as every program details page works exactly the same way.

one would think it would either get no details page for any program or get them all.

it  doesnt appear to be the case here.

give it a few days and see if it fixes itself.

Yes it must be the site, or something is wrong anyways....

I run the webgrab in force mode, straight after i run in i or incremental mode and the are a lot of replacements, so ran again, and yet more.

Im only doing 20 channels, so only takes a few mintues,,, this site flies and has 14days data so hopefully it can be fixed...somehow

Thanks

I have been getting it with tvguide.co.uk as well, past week. Thought it would sort itself out but still the same , Is anyone else facing this or is it just certain areas?

Thanks

Sorry my internet went into flashing standby.

No i am not having any problem with the combi channels it grabs everything but a lot of channels when running in incremental mode it changes as it does not see the title as the same even though it is, and adds a ? at the end, there is no difference in the changes as you see in the last post i had done 2 grabs of the same channels one as a fresh test3.xml and the second incremental about a minute later and nearly all shows were changed with a ? added.

I am missing something here or is the site blocking things?

First run fine second run the same as previously Could it be something with the site itself like they had with tv.com a time out after a certain time? or the cookie file ? I am just grabing at straws right now

abt 1/2 hr for your 7 channels but would be faster next update using incremental.

Could you please try the same for my site in post one as very similar issue IMHO thanks

that site does not have the same problem.there's no details page being returned from the server.

if you go here...

http://tvguideuk.telegraph.co.uk/channel.php

and select a channel(example BBC1 East).look in your guide.xml for a show that has the (?) in the title.find it in the program list and click on the title and a popup box will open thats blank.try it for a title that doesnt have the (?) and the popup box will have the show details.

Sorry but not always, i just ran a test....the attached log has shows getting skipped because they are less than a minute,,,,but they are longer than a minute.. as these shows will change with each run of the webgrab i was hoping that if it were slowed down (i do not know how??) then it would grab cleanly. Thanks again

I have given up on this lol, gone back to the 2015 ini file and just running fresh runs every day.

Using the last ini you updated, 482 channels after 4hours had done 197 grabs did a fresh grab with the old ini completed in 1 hour 1 m.

[  Debug ]
[  Debug ] 16425 shows in 482 channels
[  Debug ] 0 updated shows
[  Debug ] 16388 new shows added

Think at the moment that looks like the best option.

Thanks for everything hope you find the cause for this difference.

there is a fix that works,i just cannot see why the way it is having issues with the title matching.

disable the site {..} line with the retry= on it and change the title scrub(i disabled the existing stuff and added a new line) to copy the index_title.

title.modify {addstart|'index_title'}
*title.scrub {single|<h1>||</h1>|</h1>}
*title.modify {cleanup(tags="<"">")}
*title.modify {remove(type=regex)|\s\(\d{4}\)}
*title.modify {cleanup}

can you post the old ini,i'm curious to see what its doing with the titles.

This is the one I used , Even with this the titles on a incremental change with the ?
