BT ini

Hey all,
So i've been using Webgrab plus for a while, but not really dabbled with may settings / customisation (i.e. REX).
I have recently upgraded my docker to v3 and my setup broke, I have signed up here, even made a donation, as why not hey :)
but can't get bt.ini to work as I expect.

When I look on the bt epg I can see season & episode info for the shows, however the epg that is downloaded only covers the basics:
title, sub-title, desc, credits, category & icon.

Am I missing something or am I supposed to use REX now to grab this extra information?
FYI I am using tv.bt.com.E on v3.0 of the docker instance of webgrab+
I am currently only trying to scrape one channel (ITV HD) and it does grab, but seems to be missing information.

my WGLicense.log says :
[ Info ] License check disabled by WG admin
[ Info ] The program will run with performance settings : "classic"

Incase that helps.

Sorry I'm not able to resolve this myself, which is frustrating me as well.

I tried it also and don't see the SxxExx info either. Have you tried the new UK Sky ini and channels list? That has ITV and has SxxExx info for most shows I scanned through. Look in the siteini pack for: sky.com.EK.ini

You'll need to insert the license found in the donators forum "Europe" subforum.

Thanks, Glad its not just me.
So 1 question (to make sure I submit the request in the right place) : how do I request that its added going forwards?
and yeah I am trying the sky one now, problem seems to be that for some shows (weirdly BBC ones) it shows things like :
E3/6

but then on the site it shows : S2020 E3 which is obviously incorrect as well... fun.

I think it will be download what I can then learn REX & thetvdb connection for the rest :)

thanks

S2020 is right or wrong depending on how u look at it,they are using the year instead of S1.some sites do this.
Sxxxx can be removed to just leave the episode number info, its a matter of preference.

What site is this sky ? Also sometimes like BB suggested is used to keep the year info (if later you watch a recording) so you know is a episode E3 from 2020 series. If we remove it tomorrow someone will say it's missing :)

Nice mat8861, i really would love to learn how to make an ini. I've looked at the manual several times and still confused about things. I've downloaded the SiteIniIDE app to help. Is there anything else that can give me the basics, or does the manual, app, and other ini's (for examples) cover most things I need to know?

its been 4 yrs and I still refer to the manual regularly on something I havnt use in awhile, ect.
when I was trying to learn I called it the bible as I was reading it constantly.

It seems like for the particular show I am looking at S2020 E3 is correct, its actually Season 4 (thetvdb) Our Girl. But I think thats just because that show does not have a concept of seasons.

So S2020 E3 is most likely right & then using rex / post processing will allow me to work out which name to use for tvheadend

rex wont fix this.
its moves data and stuff like that,it has no ability for adding new(or different data).
now the mdb post process or built for this BUT….
jan is just trying to fix this for imdb due to changes so I don't know how good it would work if you tried it.
also u cannot run 2 post processors, its either rex or mdb.

but theoretically here how it should(I will use ur info as a example)..

S2020 E3 would not get a match on imdb
but if the subtitle was there also then webgrab would also try to use that for a match and f it finds one then it can get the correct season and episode info from imdb.
then u can say replace my existing info in my xml with what imdb data says.

this may be awhile before back to fully functional but before imdb made some changes it worked like a charm.

Thanks for turning this around quickly, is it possible to have it setup as a copy of what's on the site, as S2020 might not be S1 as derived.
Unless I can use REX to flick this back?

ok cool thanks for the info, all a big learning curve for me, nice to know that you can only post edit once.

I can always add something to my own post process (have some work arounds for names anyways) so can just expand my tvh post process script

Is the support helpful?
support us

This thread covers a lot of subjects, there is no single 'answer' but I like to add some remarks.

- For users that want just something that works without the need to dive into the 'how to solve' it area, wg++ can sometimes be disappointing. The trouble is that tvguide websites (from which the siteini tries to grab its data) change all the time + are inconsistent in their formats between channels and or show details. Moreover, there is 'absolutely !!' no online tvguide standard in the world. No two tvguide website is even closely similar to another.
That's the reason why wg++ is rather 'support' critical. We need to revise siteini's all the time and add new ones.

- But despite we do what we can, thanks to our two support super experts Mat and Blackbear , there are always more things that need to be fixed or added than we have the manpower. Sorry for those users I mentioned above.

- The problem is manpower. And just to remind our users .. we do this because we like it .. and in the time allowed by normal jobs and/or home sores .. and without payment to speak of. That said, anyone with the time , the willpower, some affinity with programming and the feeling that he will like the type of hobby to make or revise siteini's, is welcome to join.

However, as Blackbear already warned .. its a big learning curve. The specific 'script' language for siteini's described in the manual is rather extensive. It is best learned by 'tryal and error' and 'asking' the experts. But because these are so busy with the jobs on hand .. they won't always have the time for that.
I think, a good start is reading/experimenting with chapter 7 of the manual, a 42 steps guide of how to develop a new SiteIni.

But don't feel demotivated, it looks a lot more difficult than it is !!

Thanks for taking the time out to write this. 100% agree that it's very much a changing / non-standard thing that this tool is trying to move into as many specific user requirements, I personally don't envy you / volunteers.

I would love to learn how to build / fix / investigate, so will indeed look at the manual (once I find the version for V3 (if there are any changes)).
I did look at that for rex support, but it seemed to divert to a text file which I could not understand, and that's on me to learn how to navigate the site and find the information (I did start a separate thread on rex support as I got really stumped as used to regex and throught it might be similar but it might not be).

Thanks for making such a great product and having any support is a blessing :)

My suggestion is for you to start with easy sites like one channel/one week, if you miss foundamentals it's not going to help you later. For regex not always is necessary and not faster, most depends on how you do things. The concept on how it works is pretty easy, the documentation (i call it the bible) is there, i am sure everyone like Jan said, it will take sometimes...but you can do it!!

I know you did me a massive by you uploading a new version, but is it possible to remove the fix for S2020 = S1? Its not actually valid for some shows which just use the year, but could be on season 4 / 3 etc.
Sorry to be a pain :(

Well in theory there is no season 2020, in such case it should be removed and leave only the episode. I will leave it so can be remove/replaced after.
