Does anyone know which provider (and in turn XML) updates best/most often ?
I found that with horizon.EK xml - if there's a change in the evening show in the middle of the day ( in my test, Freeview changed the guide at 1pm - pushing the evening show from 9pm to 10pm ) , my horizon.EK grabber ran at 5pm - it still wasnt reflected. In fact, i tried even at 8pm - still didnt update.
Is Sky, radio, bt any better ?
(by the way , i do not want to run my grabber too often, but i do run it at 5pm so get the most up-to-date listings for the evening)

I agree about Horizon, it makes tons of changes. I've been using the latest sky.com.EK (with decrypt Key) and its tons better. So my combo is try to find everything I can on Sky. Then i'll use Horizon, Radio Times, and tvguide.co.uk for fillers.

You could run as wg++ with update "s" after midnight or in the morning

The question was NOT about WebGrab++ update frequency or update type. No amount of updating will do any good if source is not up-to-date.

It was a general question about which site is the best/fastest in updating their UK Freesat/Freeview programming in case of last minute programming changes (like for example - horizon.EK provider is not great at adapting same day changes)

I'm gonna give sky a try.

Tried Sky ini - generally it seems very quick and up-to-date - but no matter what epiusode-num system i use (xmltv_ns, on-screen, system ) *some* - only some - series have weird format

for example episode-num system=onscreen S1 E5/28 episode-num

What is /28 for ?

Of course, Plex neither Kodi understand it.

is the standard episodesystem=onscreen that means series 1 episode 5 of 28. You can change to episodesystem=xmltv_ns wg++ will automatically convert it.

I did to no avail (btw, i'm running 3.0.1 - beta)

This is my sky.com.EK.ini: (changed from default onscreen)
site {url=sky.com|timezone=UTC|maxdays=7|cultureinfo=en-GB|charset=UTF-8|episodesystem=xmltv_ns|ratingsystem=UK}

This is my config
channel update="i" site="sky.com.EK" site_id="4101##2002" xmltv_id="BBC One Lon">BBC One Lon

and this is the XMLTV guide:
episode-num system="xmltv_ns">20.104/196.
