Merg with different timezones

Morning All,

I am trying to grab certain channels from an already grabed xml,

The Original grab shows this data

<programme start="20160830003700 -0400" stop="20160830010700 -0400" channel="WHTMDT">
    <title lang="en">Nightline</title>
    <desc lang="en">No Description Available.</desc>
    <date>2016</date>
    <category lang="en">Talk</category>
    <category lang="en">News</category>
    <category lang="en">Interview</category>
    <rating system="MPAA">
      <value>TV-G</value>
    </rating>
  </programme>
  <programme start="20160830010700 -0400" stop="20160830013700 -0400" channel="WHTMDT">
    <title lang="en">Paid Programming</title>
    <desc lang="en">No Description Available.</desc>
  </programme>
  <programme start="20160830013700 -0400" stop="20160830020700 -0400" channel="WHTMDT">
    <title lang="en">The Insider</title>
    <desc lang="en">No Description Available.</desc>
    <credits>
      <actor>Louis Aguirre</actor>
      <actor>Debbie Matenopoulos</actor>
    </credits>
    <category lang="en">Newsmagazine</category>
    <category lang="en">Entertainment</category>
  </programme>

The merged one shows this

<programme start="20160829003700 +0100" stop="20160829010700 +0100" channel="ABC HD">
    <title lang="en">Nightline</title>
    <desc lang="en">No Description Available</desc>
    <credits>
      <actor>Jimmy Kimmel</actor>
    </credits>
    <category lang="en">Talk</category>
    <category lang="en">News</category>
    <category lang="en">Interview</category>
  </programme>
  <programme start="20160829010700 +0100" stop="20160829013700 +0100" channel="ABC HD">
    <title lang="en">Paid Programming</title>
    <desc lang="en">No Description Available</desc>
  </programme>
  <programme start="20160829013700 +0100" stop="20160829020700 +0100" channel="ABC HD">
    <title lang="en">The Insider</title>
    <desc lang="en">No Description Available</desc>
    <credits>
      <actor>Louis Aguirre</actor>
      <actor>Debbie Matenopoulos</actor>
    </credits>
    <category lang="en">Newsmagazine</category>
    <category lang="en">Entertainment</category>
  </programme>

It has grabed the details but the time is wrong. am I missing something?

My Ini file is below for the merge one.

Thanks

 thinking about this i think i'm partially wrong as to what i said above.

you dont what to enter the timezone that your guide.xml shows as i said above.

you want what it says in the merge-xmltv.ini file "edit - timezone=UTC+00:00 - to the timezone for which the xmltv data is created"

here's why,

the default is UTC+00:00,as you point out in your post it s shows as +01:00.

this is beasuse of DST,UTC+00:00 is really +01:00 during DST.

there is a difference between just UTC and UTC+00:00.the first one doesnt get corrected for DST.

so the answer your question,i assume since your guid.xml shows -04:00 then you want to enter

timezone=-05:00 which webgrab will correct for DST and the merged data in yourguide.xml will show -04:00.

you could also use America/Toronto or America/New_York or any other city that has a Eastern timezone.

Yes Thats right, just tried it and saw , changes to -04:00 and it showed -03:00. so for grabing from different time zones each one has to have a separate ini for the corresponding timezone right. eg: one for US Eastern one for  Central & one for UK, also if grabing from particular local places eg. NBC NY and NBC LA  each will have to have its own ini.

Is that right what I have thought lol.

Thanks

Yes at the moment i use zap2it and tv.com for all the US ones and tvpassport and tvguide.co.uk for the others so its all over the place lol.

Because i was having problems with TV.com not scrapping and timing out had to move them so they are not one after another. so they will work well in any pvr but in a guide addon such as FTV/Ivue the channels are all over the place, so those who use my guide with pvr its ok apart from iptv simple not giving the right times (but i am working on that) but those who use my addon guide the channels are all mixed up and doesnt look nice at all. therefore the trial on grabing from my already grabbed data and running it in a separate merge channel list that is in the right order.

Think i complicated it a bit lol.

After all the work blackbear put in to explain I ran it for about 2 weeks and then went back to running individual grabs lol. But tbh it works fine. Where are you having problems with it?
