I downloaded WebGrabPlus for the first time and have tested it with a default license. It seemed to work perfectly with freesat.co.uk but the XML guide is useless because EVERY start/stop time entry is identical. The first time they all showed 3am next day, the morning after they were all midnight (000000) on the same day. I have attached the log file and the XML guide.
I am guessing the problem is due to an error in the .ini configuration file in siteini.pack but I have no idea where to start on looking for it. Google searches have not helped. Does anyone have a suggestion for fixing the problem?
updated see https://github.com/SilentButeo2/webgrabplus-siteinipack/tree/master/site...
Thanks but it now has a different problem. This time it just took a few seconds to download the opening block with the list of channel names. I have included my config file in the upload.
increase your timeout to 80
It looks like the most recent problem is caused by the two files you uploaded yesterday.
I tried various timeouts (up to 1000) with no change but I then reverted to the files from siteini.pack. The channels then downloaded OK - but with all times at midnight (000000) as before. I noticed from your log file that you are running Ver 3.1.7.2 so I installed the latest Ver 3.1.7.0 Beta download. That behaves exactly the same (with both the original and your two files) as the current download (V3.1.0.0) that I originally installed.
We are both using Windows and the same EPG website so it seems that your corrected .ini file format only works with Ver 3.1.7.2.
I re-checkedd your config, did you add license data ? or you just hided (which is good ) ? Also in your log , you have
C:\Users\mikes\AppData\Local\WebGrab+Plus\siteini.user\freesat.co.uk.ini -- Revision Unknown
while you should have rev.3
So there is something not matching.....i also doubt that wg without license will even run and anyway has its limitatation see license log.txt
I previously ignored the licence line but it still ran OK (other than 000000 times) except with your .ini file. I just tried again after inserting the username, email and password I used to register for the forum. That made no difference and the licence log file still says consider adding a license request:
[ ] WebGrab++ license request and update log
[ ] 2021/04/07 17:05
[ ]
[Warning ] No License request in WebGrab++.config.xml
[ Info ] Consider to add a license request , like this:
[ Info ]
[ Info ] License check .. done
Also I just did a quick test of a few channels on tvguide.co.uk (needs cookies) and that worked perfectly w/o any license details.
did you add f to license so it force update ?
See attached note (it does not post correctly).
username=forum_username, password (license passcode in your user panel) and mail you used on forum ?
Yes. I copied and pasted the passcode.
May i ask you where do you grab from ? Can you also post your latest webgrab log and license log ?
As I mentioned in my OP I only discovered WebGrabPlus a couple of days ago and have been testing to see if it was worth keeping. Apart from our conversation all the tests used the siteini.pack files and the example config (no licence line enabled) with the two changes listed on the quick start page. I have tried a few UK websites and of those which work Freesat seems by far the best (apart from the 000000 times).
Here are the results from one I just ran (m.tvguide.co.uk). I did it with and without a licence line in the config so have included the logs from both runs. I also included the XML grab (which seems to be the same either way).
By the way, thanks for all your help with this. My interest in WebGrabPlus arose because I have been using EPG downloads from XMLTV.co.uk but that has worked only erratically for the past couple of weeks.
there is something wrong in your license, as registred user it should show the attached
No idea about the license but it is now working perfectly. I went to the GitHub site and downloaded the 3.1.7.2 bin files plus the latest .ini and channel files. Thanks for your patience and the updates.
